We announced earlier in the year that we would be the official club sponsors of the English Championship side, Swansea City FC, for the next two seasons. Both the club and 32Red decided early on that we shouldn’t just be a logo on a shirt, so we’ve busily thinking of ways of making our partnership more exciting. To that end we’re really pleased to announce the official number 32 of Swansea City as no other than one of our very own casino players, Ross Mitchell.
Ross won his place in the side after entering a 32Red competition on the Swansea site. Already a big online blackjack fan, Ross happily joined our award-winning casino to try his hand at his favourite casino game. Little did he realise his time at our tables would result in this one of a kind win.
Having been picked as our winner, Ross is now an integral part of the club this season, featuring in official club photos, being included in the line-up on match day programmes and a host of other squad duties. He was handed his official shirt by Swansea FC manager and former Portuguese international star, Paulo Souza, before the match against Sheffield United (below). Ross had this to say,
“Most fans have dreamt of seeing their name in the matchday programme, and given my lack of footballing ability this is the only way I could have got to do it! The entire competition is a terrific idea and I hope others get a chance to experience what I have, thank you Swansea City, and thank you 32Red Online Casino!”
Club offical, Leigh Dineen, said,
“This is the first of a number of initiatives we will be working on with our new sponsor 32Red this season. They have given us fantastic support so far and I know that they want to involve the fans as much as possible…Manager Paulo Sousa presented Ross with his No.32 shirt and had a good chat with him. With the amount of injuries we’ve got at the moment, he may have to wear the shirt on the pitch soon!”
